Reminder! Support group meeting Tuesday Sept. 17th

Reminder to DC/MD support group members:

On Tuesday September 17 at 7 pm we will meet at our usual location in Rockville. We’ll catch up with one another, welcome new members, and hear from guest speaker & new member, Lisa Yuan, a cochlear implant user, and also, through the Hearing Loss Association of America, a Community Assistive Technology Trainer. She’ll tell us about her experience with cochlear implants, and also discuss: local fire safety laws regarding smoke detectors, and alternative alerting devices for people with hearing loss or hyperacusis who can’t use sound-alarms.

For further reference: A 2016 ATA webinar on cochlear implants & tinnitus is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZxA_qImkDs - Lisa Yuan has participated in studies by this researcher.

Finally, ATA is asking all support groups for our “wish lists” as to what kind of support we would like to see from ATA. Bring your suggestions. Or, if you can’t come, send your ideas by email to: TinnitusDC@gmail.com . If you prefer not to go through the support group volunteers who manage the DC/MD area support group, email ATA directly: joy.onozuka@ata.org .
