Save the date! – Thursday December 6 next support group meeting

Our next meeting will be Thursday, December 6th, at 7 pm at Potomac Audiology.

Our guest will be, via call-in, Bryan Pollard, President of Hyperacusis Research Limited in Boston. https://hyperacusisresearch.org His specific area of study is hyperacusis and discomfort. (Most of us find loud sounds pretty uncomfortable!) New scientific experimentation with drugs and devices are in the works and he will give us an update.

We have a “Plan B” so that, should Dr. Pollard not be able to make this meeting, our research update will come from Jennifer Born, Scientific Coordinater & Programmatic Advisor at the American Tinnitus Association.

Note about October:  You may recall that our guest speaker scheduled for last month’s meeting had an emergency and had to cancel. We met anyway at Potomac Audiology, welcomed a new member, caught up with one another, and talked about how the past year has gone. People seem to be pleased with the format, location, and frequency of our meetings. Most thought it would be nice to have a mechanism to chat on line in between meetings. A proposal is being floated to start a “secret” (non public, members only) FaceBook group. It would require an administrator. Would anyone be interested? (email tinnitusdc@gmail.com )
